West Wales Wedding Photography
Here are some samples of my West Wales wedding photography. Each post represents a few favourite images from each West Wales wedding that I have photographed recently. This area of the Principality includes the counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. With some of the most beautiful countryside, coastlines and beaches in Britain, it is equally popular for surfing, hiking, coasteering, bird watching, dolphin spotting, holiday destination and of course as a wedding location.
Dating back to the early 12th century Cardigan Castle sits in the middle of the town with majestic views of the River Teifi in West Wales. The castle was probably first occupied by Gilbert Fitz Richard de Clare, although his occupation was short lived after Rhys ap Gruffydd captures the Castle using scaling ladders and demolishes it. The 1st of May (2019) saw me travel to the west coast of Wales for an assignment to provide some Pembrokeshire wedding photography for Rhian and Jacob. Whilst Rhian does has family connections to Wales, the happy couple currently live in Los Angeles. In this Californian abode Rhian is pursuing a successful career as an actor. […] read more
I am often asked by recently engaged couples, “What if it rains on our wedding day?” My answer is generally something about staying dry and comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere created by everyone huddling around the bar. Keeping an eye on the weather and utilising any break or easing off by the elements, perhaps braving […] read more
Here is a selection of photographs I created for Laura and Alex at their wedding ceremony in Mwnt Church and reception at the Pizza Tipi in Cardigan, Wales. I have worked with Laura before, as in the past she has been a wedding co-ordinator for some of Wales’ finest hotels, so I was very pleased […] read more
A trilogy of occasions this year saw me make the picturesque journey across the principality to the west coast of Mid Wales, to photograph weddings at Nanteos. This final visit of 2017, was for the joyful union of Katie and David on the 2nd September. The whole day from the bridal preparations to dancing the […] read more
Charlotte and Adam were married in Mid Wales on Saturday 26th August 2017. Early in the morning I travelled to the town of Aberystwyth to Nanteos Hotel where they were both getting ready for the big day. So it was logistically possible for me to split the photography coverage between the bridal and groom preparations. […] read more
Thursday 3rd August 2017, I travelled to Mid Wales, just a few miles south of Aberystwyth in the county of Ceredigion. I had made the journey to photograph the wedding of Gillian and Neil. What do you we do if it rains on our wedding day? – I get asked this questions quite a lot by newly engaged couples. In the future I will just point them to this wedding blog. I do not think Ceirios and Edwards hardly noticed it was raining on their wedding day. They were […] read more
Laura and David travelled from their home across the Irish Sea to hold their wedding in West Wales on Saturday 3rd June 2017. I met up with the bride and her family as they were preparing for the day at Hammet House. In between the hair and make up, Laura managed to dress her gorgeous […] read more
This was my first wedding that I have photographed at Woodhouse Barn in Pembrokeshire. Abi and Ben had originally booked me for their wedding in August, but for the most joyous of reasons brought their wedding forward to the last day of May in 2017. So on this Wednesday morning I found myself heading west […] read more
On Friday 5th May 2017 I travelled across the Welsh countryside to the west coast town of Aberaeron. I was here to photograph the same sex wedding of Daniel and Paul.
