Charlotte and Olly hosted their wedding in the idyllic coastal town of Newport in Pembrokeshire, West Wales in May 2024. Located on the estuary of River Nevern it is the quintessential sailing town. A couple of years ago I photographed the wedding of Katie and Henry, whose marriage ceremony was also held in the town’s St Mary’s Church. Though the departure of the bride and groom was somewhat different, with Charlotte and Olly opting for a motorcycle farewell to the church guests. After a quick detour up the mountain road of Carningli to enjoy the unspoilt vista of the Pembrokeshire coast line, it was straight to the reception. This was held in the family home of the bride, where marquee had been pitched in the garden.

The delicious wedding breakfast was supplied by Strawbery Shortcake, whose reputation for fine food is well deserved. Charlotte elegant wedding dress was supplied by Miss Bush, flowers by My Wild Caravan, make up by Phillipa Hughes and hair by hairenvybypaula.

As you can see from this selection of photographs, apart from the handful groups requested and suggest position on the mountain top to utilise the view, the rest of the day was captured in its natural flow, with no instruction, a pure documentary approach.

“Thank you once again for capturing our day so perfectly.”
