Even before the covid pandemic hit the world, I knew the wedding of Robert and Sara was going to be quite unique. Their plan for the wedding breakfast had always been to hire the whole of Bully’s Restaurant in Pontcanna, Cardiff. Any food lover worth their table salt will know of the reputation of this passionately run neighbourhood bistro. It is charmingly decorated with an eclectic array of memorabilia and uses seasonal produce from local Welsh providers, to produce a menu full of culinary delights with underlying French influence. The marriage ceremony took place at Cardiff City Hall. It was here I first met up with the happy couple on Saturday 11th September 2021. Following the ceremony the newlyweds led their guests to Alexandra Gardens, an ornate memorial park located in the middle of the capitals civic centre. Making the most of the Welsh sunshine, the gathered friends and family, throw confetti over the new husband and wife before posing for some group photographs. Robert and Sara then wanted some natural portraits of just the two of them, so strolled the park as I capture moments of this with my camera. They made their way through the city centre to the Hilton Hotel, where afternoon tea had been arranged. Though the main wedding breakfast celebration was to be saved for the chef’s treats at Bully’s. Here a few more people had been invited to join in with the supper, served to the guests on two long tables that span the length of this intriguing and atmospheric restaurant.
“Thank you very much for the photos. They’re great, they really capture the day, especially the candid ones.”
