Woodhouse Barn Wedding Photography

A More Natural Approach to Wedding Photography

Here are some examples of my Woodhouse Barn wedding photography that I have created for previous bride and grooms. Woodhouse Barn was hand built by the current owners using traditional carpentry methods to host their daughter’s wedding, since then is has become one of West Wales most popular wedding venues.

Located in the splendid countryside of Pembrokeshire, it benefits generous grounds and an authentic rustic charm that is quite unique within the wedding and event industry. A separate wooden crafted structure named the ‘Hen House’ offers a charming rural surrounding to perform your marriage ceremony. The main barn hosts the wedding reception, with a mezzanine seating area and bar, the dining area can comfortably seat up to 160 people for a formal wedding breakfast. The bridal party and guests can even extend their stay with overnight accommodation available in the form of a bell tent village.

Wedding photography at Woodhouse Barn offers a beautifully understated and contemporary setting in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Situated in rural Pembrokeshire, Woodhouse Barn combines modern barn architecture with panoramic views, creating a refined yet relaxed atmosphere for couples seeking a distinctive venue.

The barn itself is thoughtfully designed, with clean lines, expansive glazing, and a neutral interior palette that allows each wedding to feel personal and unique. From a photographic perspective, the abundance of natural light is one of its most valuable qualities. Large windows frame the surrounding landscape and flood the ceremony space with soft, even illumination ideal for capturing authentic expressions and subtle detail without distraction.

One of the defining features of Woodhouse Barn is its elevated position. The uninterrupted countryside views provide a dramatic yet tranquil backdrop for portraits. Whether photographing couples against rolling fields beneath an expansive sky or incorporating the natural textures of the surrounding farmland, the setting offers depth and scale without overwhelming the intimacy of the moment.

The outdoor ceremony area is particularly well suited to documentary-style coverage. Set against open scenery, it allows for elegant compositions that balance architecture and landscape. In favourable weather, golden-hour portraits are especially striking here. As the sun lowers across the Pembrokeshire horizon, the warm light enhances skin tones and adds dimension to the barn’s timber and stone elements.

Inside, the reception space is both stylish and adaptable. The understated design enables floral installations, candlelight, and bespoke décor to stand out, ensuring that each celebration feels distinct. Evening photography benefits from the barn’s layout, with opportunities to capture atmosphere, movement, and interaction as the celebration unfolds naturally.

Woodhouse Barn is also well suited to couples who value privacy and a sense of retreat. Its rural location allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the day, free from interruption. For photography, this creates an environment in which genuine moments can be observed and documented discreetly.

Throughout the seasons, Woodhouse Barn maintains its appeal. Spring and summer bring vibrant greenery and long evenings; autumn introduces texture and warmth; winter weddings benefit from the barn’s cosy interior and dramatic skies.

For couples seeking contemporary elegance combined with the beauty of the Welsh landscape, Woodhouse Barn provides an exceptional canvas for timeless and natural wedding photography.

“Sacha was fantastic! I was very specific in wanting to capture the narrative of the day and that I wanted atmosphere over posed photographs.”

“I have a background in Fine Art and Sacha was the only wedding photographer I liked, so I was very happy that he was able to do our wedding. He even ran into the sea with us for some quirky shots in the wind and rain! He never complained despite getting soaked and the photos captured such a beautiful vibe of the day. I would highly recommend him.”
