Here are a few photographs from the wedding of Georgie and Will who hosted their day at Wild by Nature at Lower House Farm.
Located on a regenerative farm, this event venue is nestled in the picturesque Olchon Valley of Herefordshire. Spanning 70 acres of untouched countryside, the farm offers a stunning mix of ancient woodlands, meandering streams, wildflower meadows, and even their own private waterfall.
Whether indoors or outdoors, you’ll find a range of spaces to suit your needs. At the heart of the farm stands the charming stone and oak-framed barn, a perfect setting for feasts and celebrations or late night dancing. Outside, explore the sheltered yard, expansive meadows, and a magnificent 600-year-old oak tree – a beloved spot for ceremonies. For a quiet retreat, escape into the surrounding wilderness and enjoy a peaceful moment in nature.
Georgie and Will live in Berlin but chose to invite their family and friends to the stunning Black Mountains to celebrate their special day. It was a wedding that embraced a relaxed and personal vibe, with the couple getting ready together and the bride opting for a non-traditional look instead of a classic white dress. The atmosphere was easygoing and casual from the start.
Though there was a light drizzle in the air, the couple exchanged their vows beneath the protective canopy of a towering oak tree in one of the farm’s fields. Just as they were pronounced married, the clouds parted, and the skies cleared to a brilliant blue, as if on cue, perfectly setting the stage for the celebrations to begin.
My brief for capturing Georgie and Will’s wedding was to focus on documenting the day as it naturally unfolded. The couple was clear from the start: they wanted to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends, with no pressure for formal shots. There were no rigid group photographs to capture, just moments that felt right in the flow of the day.
The bride and groom portraits, for example, were taken during a relaxed evening stroll as their guests enjoyed dessert. In fact, many of my weddings are approached this way. I always encourage my clients to decide on any formal shots themselves, as everyone has different preferences. I never assume that a couple wants their day captured in a traditional, posed way. It’s about creating an experience that reflects who they are.
“Wow they are incredible. Absolutely amazing job. We’re delighted that you were part of the day.”
