This was the first wedding that I have photographed at Sylen Lakes in West Wales. Today, 1st October 2016, I was here to document the marriage of Emma and Nick. I had met this couple before at the wedding of Emma’s brother the previous year so it was nice to see the family again. In fact I started the days photographic coverage at the bride’s parent’s home before making the trip to Carmarthenshire to Sylen Lakes. A privately owned fishing and wedding venue, set in 50 acres of West Wales countryside featuring several man made lakes. Though the inclement weather proceeding todays wedding, meant that the land surrounding the lakes was too waterlogged to stand or walk on, especially in a set of heels with a big white dress. However the lakes did provide a very picturesque backdrop and target practice, when guests were invited to an impromptu golf tee to hit floatable golf balls into the lake. The day also featured Luke, a close up magician based in Carmarthenshire and provided some wonderful entertainment during the drinks reception.
