In September 2025, Ellice and Harry entrusted me with the honor of capturing their wedding day at a stunning corner of South Wales that hosts the Penrice Castle Estate. Both the bride and groom, along with their respective parties, stayed in the charming holiday cottages scattered across the estate, offering a peaceful setting to prepare for the big day. The ceremony took place in the beautiful St Andrews Church, nestled within the estate grounds. Afterward, the couple requested a few natural portraits on the breathtaking Oxwich Bay beach, which is also part of the Penrice Estate.

Meanwhile, the guests made their way to one of the estate’s fields, where a marquee was set up right next to the enchanting ruins of the old castle. The rest of the day unfolded with laughter, heartfelt wedding speeches, incredible food, and, of course, plenty of dancing—creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Penrice Castle Estate in Gower, South Wales, is a stunning historic venue offering a truly picturesque setting for weddings. Situated in the heart of the Gower Peninsula, an area renowned for its natural beauty and rugged coastline, this estate boasts dramatic views of the surrounding countryside and the sea, making it an unforgettable backdrop for a wedding.

The estate itself is steeped in history and charm, with the Penrice Castle, a Grade II listed building, at its heart. The castle’s grandeur and beautiful gardens provide the perfect combination of romantic and elegant settings, ideal for both intimate ceremonies and larger celebrations. The estate’s extensive grounds feature a mix of lush greenery, sweeping lawns, and scenic vistas, which are perfect for outdoor ceremonies or pre-reception drinks.

Penrice Estate has been in the same family since the Norman Conquest of Gower in the 12th century, when a Norman knight was granted land and took the name de Penrice. Despite passing through various hands and suffering a partial breakup in the 1950s, the core land surrounding Penrice Castle and the village has remained with the family for twenty-nine generations.

The bride’s hair was beautifully styled by JC Hair Design, with makeup expertly applied by Sarah Evans. The stunning floral arrangements for the day were crafted by Secret Garden Florist. Given the large number of guests and the spread-out locations of the bridal parties, the bride and groom opted for a second photographer. I was fortunate to have the talented Mark Wallis, a good friend and fellow photographer, assist me on the day. The elegant marquee was provided by County Marquees, while the delicious catering was handled by Pickled Pumpkin. Every detail of the event was flawlessly coordinated by Togetherness Weddings, ensuring a smooth and memorable celebration. Below you can see a few examples of my Penrice Castle wedding photography.
