Rebecca and Benjamin’s Monmouthshire wedding was my penultimate photography assignment for 2018. It took place on 28th December at St Tewdric’s House in Monmouthshire. It was here where I met up with the bride in the morning as she was getting ready at the house. Surrounding by her family and bridesmaids it was a warm and giggle filled room at the bridal preparations. The groom meanwhile was waiting at the marriage ceremony located at St Tewdric’s Church in the Monmouthshire village of Mathern. In time the guests were seated and the bride arrived looking marvellous in the warming glow of a low wintery sun. The marriage ceremony was entertaining and comical, the vicar being a well know local character. Afterwards once the congratulatory hugs and kisses were exchanged, much confetti was thrown upon the happy couple as they smiled and laughed their way down the church path. Welcome reception drinks were served back at St Tewdrics House, friends mingled and families posed for pictures. The wedding breakfast was served by the ever proficient staff of EJ catering. The after dinner speeches were some of most heartfelt and humorous I have witnessed, each wedding seems outdo the last. The night drew in as the evening celebrations began with the couple first dance and then the floor was opened to the guests.
