The night before the wedding of Jocelyn and Andrew, saw extremely high winds in November 2021, which resulted in damage to buildings and trees being blown over across the country. Unfortunately one of those trees blocked the road to Llangoed Hall in Mid Wales. The local agricultural workers are both well rehearsed and equipped in removing such obstacles on these remote rural roads. Though before they had the chance to get to work, a lorry on its nocturnal journey was made immobile by the timber debris halfway through in its attempt to turn around. This then blocked both lanes of the road and also the entrance to Llangoed Hall. When faced with such a laughable series of misfortunate events, you can only thank your habit of leaving early for wedding photography commissions.
Fortunately the combination of an understanding policeman and a little cross country driving, saw me arrive with time to spare to begin photographing the morning preparations. Luckily it was still a couple of hours away from the marriage ceremony time and by the time most guests arrived, any remaining obstacle had been removed. Jocelyn and Andrew had travelled down from their home in Edinburgh a few days earlier and so were both on location the night before. The rest of the day went along without a hitch. The bitingly cold wind, kept the majority of the day inside, but with such beautiful interiors of this Edwardian country house, this was no hardship.
“Wow, thank you so much for these. They’re absolutely fantastic. You’ve really captured the day and we’re thrilled with them! Many thanks,Jocelyn and Andrew”
