On the 4th of December 2021 I photographed the wedding of Rebecca and Toby. The dreaded Covid unfortunately loomed rather large for poor Rebecca, her parents tested positive just days before the wedding. With it being too close to postpone and re-arrange the day went ahead. Her brother walked her down the aisle and Toby’s father stepped in last minute to deliver a speech. The brides parent’s were able to share the day in a fashion, with a video call during the morning preparations as Rebecca finalised her fitting of the wedding dress, her mum and dad looked on, dressed in their own wedding attire but through the television screen in the safety of their own living room. The marriage ceremony took place at St Martin’s Church in Caerphilly, South Wales, which thanks to previous lockdowns was both well equipped and rehearsed in live streaming services, so the bride’s proud parents were also able to witness their daughters marriage. After the nuptials were exchanged and due congratulations given and received. The wedding party left for the grounds of St Fagans Castle, where a few portraits of the bride and groom were requested, along with some groups photographs. The wedding reception was hosted across the road at the Old Post House, where its marquee illuminated by fairy lights accommodated the wedding breakfast and evening dancing.
Rebecca and Toby, kindly left me a lovely Google review, which is greatly appreciated and I shall share those words below;
“Sacha photographed our wedding in December 2021. Thoroughly professional throughout and delivered exactly what was promised. He is an excellent candid photographer and has a great eye for light. Throughout most of the day we barely noticed he was there, which means he was doing his job well. The finished product was returned to us in around 3 weeks – much faster than we were expecting.
Sacha took the time to understand what was important to us, and made sure that all our requests were taken care of.
We could not recommend him high enough.”
