Here is some of the photography I created for Kara and James for their wedding day. They were married on 19th August 2021 at Gileston Manor in South Wales. This was the first time I have photographed at this impressive wedding venue. It is located in the village of Gileston in the Vale of Glamorgan and has wide spanning views over looking the Bristol Channel. Given that weddings in 2020 did not really happen in full force, this year would be the venues only second full year of events, but the owners have a professional team of planners in place, making each day run smoothly. My day started with the bridal preparations at the couples home in Cardiff. The marriage ceremony took place within the secret garden at Gileston Manor. Guests were then able to throw confetti onto the happy couple as they entered the walled garden and leading everyone onto the front lawn. Here in front of the main house, the vista opens up as Limpert Bay and the Bristol Channel spreads out across the horizon. The wedding breakfast takes place in the venue’s purpose built marquee. Today this was decorated with the most amazing floral and pampas grass displays. As well as could be expected, the bride being part of the family dynasty behind the much loved Pugh’s Garden Centres. James is a director with the estate agency MGY, but has a background in professional rugby. And in fact use to spar alongside some formidable opponents. British Lions and Welsh rugby fans will recognise James’ best man, as Leigh Halfpenny. A man who has experienced the pressure of trying to kick a conversion in front to fo 70,000 people, yet commented that giving a best man’s speech was far more nerve-raking!
“We absolutely love them!!! So amazing! Thank you so so much!!”
