I photographed the wedding of Sophie and Owen on Saturday 25th September 2021. I started the day’s coverage with the bride at the couple’s home in the Canton area of Cardiff, South Wales. Where the bridal party was busy getting ready with the aid of make up artist, Jo and hair stylist Rachael. The principality capital at the time was experimenting with closing Castle Street to private cars, which meant a problematic and circuitous drive. Alternatively Sophie suggested booking a taxi which could take me directly to Cardiff City Hall for the marriage ceremony. This was held within the ornate council chamber. Fortuitously I did not need my car to journey to the wedding reception at the Coffi Co, as a water taxi had been arranged to transport the complete wedding party to Cardiff Bay. This allowed for a little jaunt through Bute Park to the banks of the River Taff, where the best-man and bridesmaids handed out drinks as we waited for the vessel. Once on board it as a twenty minute voyage to Mermaid Quay where guest alighted and were led to the stilted building that houses Coffi Co project out amongst the bay water. Here food was served and after a few speeches the dancing began amongst the twinkling lights of the bayside buildings.
