Here are some of my favourite photographs I provided to Lydia and Ben at their Gloucestershire wedding in Clearwell Castle, part of the Country House collection of venues. I travelled to this wedding venue nestled within the Forest of Dean on Friday 24th September 2021 and started my photographic coverage with the morning bridal preparations. The marriage ceremony took place in the castle’s ballroom, where later the wedding breakfast is served. The staff at this wedding specialist venue are like a well oiled machine, whisking the newlyweds away for a few minutes of solitude, before releasing them to the confetti ladened guests who have been ushered to line the castle’s front steps. Once outside it is time for a few group photographs of close family and friends. Lydia and Ben also requested a few portraits of them walking the grounds, so they made their way down the tree lined drive and took time to pet the venues’ donkeys, who had made their way to the fence to greet the new husband and wife. Later in the day, once the meal and speeches were completed, we made the most of the evening light and took a few more natural portraits as the happy couple toured the rear garden. As the evening progressed the wedding party were directed into the castles cellars where the couple’s first dance signals the beginning of the night’s festivities.
