On the 1st September 2016 I photographed the Buckland Hall wedding in South Wales for Alexandra and Ryan. Buckland Hall is a country mansion set in the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. It has a rich history, not least when it was burnt down by a great fire in 1894, rebuilt in a Tudorbethan style as you see today. It was the the beginning of an unseasonable warm month and I began the days coverage with the bridal preparations . The bride and her maids where busy applying make up and having their hair styled in one of the large rooms of Buckland. I manage to catch up with the groom before the marriage ceremony, whilst he was having a quick medicinal drink to calm the nerves with his best-man and ushers. The service was hosted in the main lounge hall, with its full length windows and a magnificent staircase that dominates the space. Once guests where ushered outside for receptions drinks, the diligent staff, began to set up the hall for the formal meal later in the day. This was followed by some entertaining speeches and the evening entertainment was kicked off with the traditional first dance of the bride and groom.
