A few days following Christmas I was at The Corran Resort in Carmarthenshire, Wales to photograph the wedding of Paula and Ashleigh on the 28th December 2016. Situated on the acres of marshland that surrounds the town of Laugharne, this 16th century building has been modernised and extended to provide a stylish hotel perfect for weddings. Laugharne is known for being the sometime home of famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and is though to be inspiration for the fictional town of Llareggub in Under Milk Wood. I always enjoy photographing weddings at this time of year, every venue looks so festive during the Christmas period and there seems to be a special party atmosphere and guest stay huddled around the bar and it is too cold to venture outside for too long. Though the winter sun was out is force today, bathing the scene in a warm glow thanks to its low position in the crisp blue sky. I started todays photographic coverage with the bridal preparations, Paula was getting ready with her bridesmaids in one of the rooms at The Corran. Ashleigh arriving for the ceremony in a vintage police car a few moments later. The marriage ceremony and wedding breakfast where hosted in the venues picturesque restaurant and the rest of the time, the guest made use of the bar and sitting areas of the resort.
