The morning of the Monday 4th October 2021 saw me travel to Fairyhill. I was here to photograph the wedding of Sian and Jonathan. I first met up with the bride as she was getting ready in Cerrig Glan, one of the nearby cottage owned by the wedding venue. Fairyhill is an exclusive wedding venue near the village of Reynoldston on the Gower peninsular. This area of South Wales in the historic county of Glamorgan was designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty in 1956, the first in the United Kingdom. And with good reason, Gower benefits from rural scenery and both rugged coastline combined with accessible sandy beaches. After a while the preparations paused as we transferred to the bridal suite at Fairyhill, complete with a tin bath at the foot of the bed, where the final touches continued. I took this opportunity to meet up with the groom as he was making the final adjustments to his suit in another room, before making his way downstairs for the marriage ceremony in the venues ‘K Room’. Later in the day, heavy rain was forecast, in fact on my way home later that evening, a few of the country roads were flooded. But for now the rain held off to enable a few family group photographs and a couple of natural portraits of the bride and groom in the grounds. The wedding celebrations including individual wedding cakes, which were produced by the talented bunch at Cocorico Patisserie.
These are fantastic, we’ve really enjoyed looking through them, thank you. Thank you also for your calming presence during the day!
