Stephanie and Tom celebrated their wedding in June 2024 at the picturesque St Peter’s Church, nestled in the charming South Wales village of Peterstone-super-Ely. The day, though blessed with occasional bursts of blue skies, was predominantly marked by the unpredictability of British weather. The wind and rain decided to make their presence known at the most inopportune moment—just as the newlyweds emerged from the church as husband and wife. Despite this, the inclement weather did nothing to dampen the joyous atmosphere that permeated the day. Some moments in life are meant to be savored, regardless of the elements, and this was one of them. One of my favorite images from the day is of Tom, his face lit up with a hearty laugh, holding a small white umbrella handed to him as a shield against the rain. In a comical twist of fate, a strong gust of wind turned the umbrella inside out, adding an unexpected but memorable touch of humor to the proceedings.
The day began with Stephanie getting ready in the warm and familiar surroundings of her parents’ home. This very home was also the chosen venue for the reception, with a grand marquee set up in a neighbouring field to accommodate the celebrations. The short walk from the church to the reception was made all the more memorable by the lively accompaniment of the Brass Junkies, who led the wedding guests through the lush fields with their vibrant music. Thankfully, as the day progressed, the weather improved, allowing for a series of beautiful family group photographs to be taken. The clearing skies also provided the perfect backdrop for the traditional and eagerly anticipated golf competition—a must at any gathering of this group!
The reception itself was a testament to the careful planning and attention to detail that had gone into making the day special. The marquee, provided by County Marquees, was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all the guests. The catering, handled by Strawberry Shortcake., was nothing short of exquisite, with a menu that delighted the taste buds and perfectly complemented the joyous occasion. All in all, despite the challenges posed by the weather, Stephanie and Tom’s wedding day was a true celebration of love, laughter, and the coming together of family and friends.
