Orchardleigh House Wedding Photography
A More Natural Approach to Wedding Photography
Orchardleigh House sits on the 500 acre country estate of the same name, near the town of Frome in Somerset. The estate comprises of a Grade II listed Victorian country house, a lake with an island church, and an 18-hole golf course. The Champney family had owned the estate since the Norman Invasion and did not change hands until William Duckworth bought the Orchardleigh Estate in 1855. He built the house that can be seen today the following year. The estate remained in the Duckworth family until he death of Arthur, grandson of William in 1986. Following a fallow period of the estate’s fortunes, it was brought by the Vincent Family in 2002. At the time they were a farming family based in Hungerford, though they had descended from a local Somerset family, the will of a Henry Vincent, of Frome, dates back to 1487. In time the main house was restored and opened its doors as an exclusive use wedding venue, able to host banquets for up to 160 people and overnight accommodation for over 80 guests. As well use of its own 13th century church it can arrange outside ceremonies within its formal gardens.
