Emily and Thomas were married in London on a glorious sunny day in October 2022. The bridal preparations took place in the heart of Mayfair at The Athenaeum Hotel. A short distance along Piccadilly is the Cavalry and Guards Club, where coincidentally I had photographed a wedding nine years ago. I have been luck enough to photograph a few London weddings over the years, including ones at St Paul’s Cathedral and the The Ritz Hotel. Today’s ceremony was in the Westminster Room at The Old Marylebone Town Hall. This is a very popular and busy venue to hold your wedding ceremony, especially on a Saturday. On my arrival I had to make sure I was photographing the correct set of guests who were waiting to be ushered in. After the ceremony, the attendees lined the stone steps on this grand classical former council building to shower confetti upon the newlyweds. It was then all aboard two London buses to be transported across the city to Tower Bridge Quay. Here all were invited on board an open top cruise boat. Drinks were in full flow on the roof terrace as it motored up and down the capital’s main waterway. We passed the Palace of Westminster, though a shame it was the weekend, if parliament was in session I can only imagine the reaction this boat full of party animals would have received. The wedding breakfast was served on the boat, albeit on a lower deck. As night fell we docked at the Embankment Pier where the celebrations continued. On the day I was joined by Anthony Venitis and his team, who provided the filming of the wedding.
“Thank you so much I absolutely love them! “
