The 1st September 2021 saw me make a mid week jaunt to the south coast of Devon. Rachael and James decided to host their wedding day at New Barton Barns and asked if I would provide some Devon wedding photography to document the day from the marriage ceremony to the after dinner speeches. New Barton Barns can be found down a winding country lane near the village of Wembury, perched on the cliffs overlooking the mouth of the River Yealm as it flows into Wembury Bay and the English Channel. Set on a working 600 acre National Trust farm, this collection of converted barns provide a rustic bohemian charm to the wedding day. The old stable block offers a romantic setting for marriage ceremonies and the old corn barn with traditional oak-beams, wooden-floored barn once used to stack the harvest, now provides a wonderful space for the wedding breakfast. These barns set out to form a wind sheltered courtyard, but there is access to the cliff top fields where the drinks reception can be held and guests can enjoy the unspoilt coastal views.
“Thank you so much for our photos, we love them and can’t stop looking at them”
