At some weddings the stars just seem to align. I was rather spoilt today at this idyllic English country wedding. It is always pleasure providing Cotswold wedding photography, the area boasts some of the most beautiful and picturesque architecture and countryside. Today’s wedding was held by Isabel and Hugo and took place on Saturday 31st August 2020. The majority of the day was hosted by the bride’s parents at their beautiful home in Ampney Crucis. A village near the town of Cirencester in the Cotswold area that overlaps into Gloucestershire. A marquee had been erected in their spectacular garden. I commented on my arrival in the morning that someone must have green fingers, which really was quite the understatement, given that it is also home to a well respected gardening school. Rather conveniently the church of Holy Road, where the marriage ceremony was to take place, is located adjacent to the bride’s parents’ home. It was then logistically possible for me to split my time between the bridal preparations and groom’s church arrival without losing anytime on the road. It was such a short distance, the groom need not to have driven his new bride to the reception location, but having access to such a lovely vintage car, it would be a shame not to. It was a glorious sunny day, so the bride and groom greeted their guest as they arrived in the sunlit manicured garden. Later during the drinks reception, some of the speeches were delivered outside in the garden, before the wedding breakfast was served in the marquee. Following the meal, it was time for the best-man’s speech and the cake cutting which featured a cutlas wielding groom. The first dance for the newly married couple, was quickly over as the bride and groom coerced everyone to join them on the dance floor, which turned out to be quite the party.
