I have not photographed a wedding at De Courceys Manor near Cardiff in South Wales for four years. Howver this week I was commissioned to photograph two within three days. The first of which was the wedding of Rhiannon and Martin on the 29th June 2017, whose photographs, albeit a small selection can be viewed below. Friends and family of the bride and groom can see the whole gallery via a online gallery, just ask the bride and groom for the link and password. The days started with the bridal preparations in a South Wales hotel room, where Rhiannon, her mother and bridesmaids were busy getting ready for the day. Her father then entered to room to see his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Once the tears were mopped up, he then escorted her to St Denys Church in Lisvane, Cardiff for the marriage ceremony. Martin was waiting patiently with his brother and bestman at the alter in this ancient religious site. Christians have been worshipping in Lisvane for around 1500 years, the foundations of the church dates back to the 6th century. Once the ceremony was performed, the regiters signed and confetti thrown, we made our way to the gardens of St Fagans. The bride and groom had asked for a couple of portraits here before rejoining theirs guests at the wedding reception. This was hosted at De Courceys Manor, a family run dedicated wedding and events venue on the edge of the capital city. Arrival drinks were served and enjoyed on the lawns, before the wedding breakfast and speeches entertained the gathered guests. After which a few of the gentlemen present partaked in some cigars outside before the evening celebrations began with a live band, the drummer of which was the bride’s brother.
