It is always interesting to see how venues are experienced with the different seasons. Last time I was here was on a brilliant summers day, this time I was photographing a winter wedding at the Lost Orangery in the Cotswolds. And it managed to host a fine day, despite the occasional inclement weather, the wedding guests where kept warm and dry by the majestic, terrace gardened orangery, overlooking the Wiltshire countryside. Underneath of which the ballroom, held the formal wedding breakfast, after dinner speeches and evening dancing. At the beginning of the day, 11th November 2017 I first met up with the groom and his ushers at a local pub, the picturesque White Hart, where they had lodged the night before. After taking a couple of photographs before they left for the church, I made my way to the Lost Orangery, where Victoria and her party were getting ready on site. The marriage ceremony took place in the Church of Saint John the Baptist in the Cotswold village of Colerne. Everyone followed the newly married couple back to the Lost Orangery for the drink reception where they were greeted with the unmistakable sound of a Scottish bagpiper in honour of the grooms family roots. As the evening drew in, the speeches where delivered under candle light, before the night sky was lit up with a magnificent fireworks display. This kicked off the evening celebrations with the first dance of the happy pair, followed by traditional folk dancing accompanied by a ceilidh band
“We’re really thrilled with them”
