I really love photographing a traditional British Wedding, it is after all the mainstay of my business but every once in a while it is nice to do something a bit different. So it was for the wedding of Sophie and Gareth on Saturday the 18th June 2011.
The day began with a simple marriage ceremony at Bristol Register Office attending by just immediate family, they then travelled to Walton Castle in Somerset for the main focus of the day, a big party with all of their friends and family. Sophie and Gareth are quite visually minded people, they run their own design company called Moot Ideas, so I was pleased that they chose me as their wedding photographer, but even more so with just one group shot that was taken at the register office I was allowed to concentrate on doucmenting the day as it happened.
The food was prepared by friends and the groom was aided by volunteers on the barbeque, which depsite the windy weather was a great success. There was no formal sit-down wedding breakfast, but after everyone had enough to eat the party retired to the lounge in the main tower of the castle for the speeches.
