The sky was blue and sun shining, perfectly setting the scene for the wedding day of Kate and Owain on Saturday 23rd April 2016. I began my photographic coverage at the bridal preparations which took place at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel near Bridgend in South Wales. After a while I made my way to the marriage ceremony at Eglwys Y Crwys Church in Cardiff, where the groom was waiting patiently. As it turned his patience was required more than normal after the bride’s wedding car had a puncture on the way to the church. Thankfully the bridemaids’ driver was able to pick them up and they managed to have everything fixed by the end of the ceremony.
The wedding reception took place back at Coed Y Mwstwr, where guests were treated to a few drinks on the lawn, before the formal wedding breakfast. After the speeches, we made the most of the beautiful light created by the low lying sun with a couple of portraits shots of the bride and groom. This took just a few minutes allowing them to rejoin their guest for a quick game of garden bowls before the evening celebrations were kicked off with the first dance.
