Felly and Rich held their wedding day on Saturday 9th July 2022 at Sant Ffraed House in Monmouthshire. Themselves and their guests had travelled from the metropolis of South London to this unique wedding venue in South Wales. As you can imagine they were impressed with the rural treasure of the principality, especially with the rolling hills that surrounds the fields where Sant Ffraed House is nestled. The timings of this summer wedding could not have been more perfect, with a ceremony time of 3.30pm. This allowed Felly and Rich to both prepare for the day on site. With the bride and her maids in the main house, and the groom and ushers in one of the lodges, located in the grounds. At this time of year, when (hopefully) light is abundant, a late ceremony is beneficial, because it avoids the part of the day where the sun is at its highest and can cause harsh conditions for the photographing people. It can be controlled of course, to some degree by using the shade of tress or shooting with the sun behind the subject. Though the later timings work well I think, because the evening celebrations seem to flow nicely after the wedding breakfast and speeches have been enjoyed. There is also a perfect window of time to capture some golden hour portraits of the bride and groom before the dancing gets underway.
“The photos are fantastic, you did a brilliant job.”
