Katherine and Michael’s original wedding date was in the year 2020, in fact they did go ahead with a socially distance wedding, holding a small ceremony at Cardiff City Hall. Their plans for a larger event was put on hold for a year, then another year until today, the 30th of July 2022. In the mean time the newlyweds had been busy with the birth of their little daughter to fill the time in between wedding dates. Today though, the morning preparations were held at their home in South Wales, with the groom coming and going delivering champagne and collecting wedding cake. The tradition of not seeing the bride before the ceremony, being a rather moot point as they had been technically married for newly two years. The marriage ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast was all held at the Margam Orangery. This 18th century stone built conservatory is located in the grounds of Margam Castle, it use to house over a hundred orange, lemon and other citrus trees with a series of twenty-seven tall windows to admit the winter light. Though by 1973 when the Glamorgan County Council purchased the estate, the building was in ruins. After four years of restoration it was restored to its former glory and to be repurposed as a venue to hold events. The opening ceremony was attended by Queen Elizabeth II in her silver jubilee year.
