I photographed the wedding of Tom and Heeju on Saturday 11th January 2014. The day began with the groom at an ushers lunch in a pub just down the road from Llansantffraed Court Hotel in South Wales. After a while I made my way to the hotel to photograph some of the bridal preparations. Heeju the bride is from South Korea, where they met as Tom was working there.
Despite this being one of the wettest Januarys on record, miraculously the sun shone all day. The marriage ceremony took place at the hotel, followed by a drink reception and wedding breakfast. After photographing the speeches, my duties had been full-filled and I left with the party in full swing, thanks partly I think to Soju, a clear, slightly sweet distilled Korean spirit, which had been served to the guests.
