I photographed the wedding of Debra and Gareth at the King Arthur Hotel in the village of Reynoldston on the Gower peninsula in South Wales on Friday 24th April 2015. It must of been bit of busman’s holiday for Gareth as he is a wedding photographer himself who often works at the King Arthur, whilst this does add a little bit of extra pressure to work for someone in the ‘trade’ I took it as a great compliment to be asked to photograph a photographer’s wedding.
The bridal preparations took place at the hotel, with the groom arriving in a friend’s Roll Royce. The marriage ceremony was performed in the oak beamed Avalon room of this 19th century country inn. The guests where then treated to refreshments on the patio and after a few family photographs on the lawn, we took cover from the coolness of the Welsh spring air inside the open fired warmed inn. Later in the day, we were entertained by Luke, a close-up magician who astounded everyone with his amazing act. The first dance took place and the night was danced away but not before the groom and his two best-men enjoyed some Cuban cigars in the night air.
