Here are a few of my favourite documentary wedding photographs from the marriage of Hannah and Adam which took place on Saturday 29th October 2011 at Cwrt Bleddyn in Monmouthshire, Wales. I have had a few enquiries from other wedding photographers recently asking some questions, they all seem to think I pose more images that what I do. To clarify the only instruction I give during a wedding day is when taking the few group shots that have been requested by the bride and groom and then about ten minutes with the just the bride and groom to make the most of the location. It would be true to say not all couples are the same and some clients will request more groups than others or want are a few more or less portraits of just themselves.
In the interest of transparancy none of the photographs included in this blog post have been posed they have all been captured in the normal flow of the day the only exception is that some the bride’s details may have been moved into slightly better light, after all I am not a forensic photographer and sometimes a small adjustment can make all the difference but with anything the trick is balance in approach.
