This was my first time providing Cripps Barn wedding photography, and I sincerely hope it is just the beginning of many assignments at this truly stunning venue. Cripps Barn is an 18th-century Cotswold stone barn, exuding rustic charm with its flagstone floor and nestled in the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside near Bibury in the idyllic Coln Valley.
The wedding of Corinne and Ross took place on the 26th of September, 2014. I began my day earlier than usual with a brief visit to the venue to acquaint myself with its unique layout and character before heading over to capture the excitement of the bridal preparations. Corinne and her bridesmaids arrived in style, transported in the most elegant of classic cars, a testament to her father’s impeccable taste in vintage automobiles.
The marriage ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by the enchanting woodland that graces the grounds of Cripps Barn. It was a serene and intimate setting, with the soft sounds of nature adding to the emotional weight of the moment. Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the barn’s expansive wooden patio, enjoying drinks under the warmth of the autumnal sun. The day was blessed with an Indian summer, and as the sun began to set, the sky took on a beautiful pink hue—a sight no wedding photographer can resist capturing. The evening light added a magical touch to the day, making every moment feel like a dream.
