Sylvia and Hugh held their Coombe Lodge wedding on Friday 17th October 2014. This Jacobean style mansion which played host to the whole day was designed by distinguished architect Sir George Oatley, commissioned by the Wills family, who ran a tobacco company in Bristol. It is built on the foundations of much older house, within fifteen acres of tastefully landscaped gardens, nestled at the foot of the Mendip Hills in Somerset.
The bride and groom both prepared for the big day within the venue’s sumptuous bedrooms, before the marriage ceremony which took place in the music room. Drinks were then served in the reception hall and adjoining lounge, and thanks to the mild autumnal weather, the guests were also able to enjoy some of the gardens whilst the family group photographs were organised.
Later in the day the evening entertainment was launched when the guests were ushered outside and treated to a fireworks display and then a few fun and games on the dance floor before the bride and groom’s first dance.
