Claudine and James held their wedding day on Saturday 15th October 2011 and it constituted a little tour of Cardiff starting with the bridal preparations at the Park Plaza Hotel followed by the marriage ceremony at Cardiff Castle and ending with the formal reception at the City Hall. The ceremony at the castle took place in the under-croft, a cellar type room which Claudine and James wanted candle lit to create an atmosphere but the lights had to be turned up a little so the registrar could read her notes! Photography can be tricky in such dark places and as I try to avoid using flash because not only can it be quite distracting during the ceremony but also can ruin the atmosphere in the photograph with a flat blanket of light, luckily as a documentary wedding photographer am I use to technically challenging situations and have lenses that can cope with such conditions.
