On New Year’s Eve day 2014 I photographed the wedding of Rachel and Seth. Though they live in Australia they had decided to get married in Rachel’s home country of Wales. The wedding ceremony was at The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints in Cardiff, there was a pause in the celebrations before all of the guests were to meet later on in the evening at Caerphilly Castle to toast the wedding and see in the new year.
Meanwhile the immediate family of Rachel and Seth took afternoon tea at the New House Hotel, though the bride and groom asked if we could stop at Caerphilly Castle to take the opportunity and ultilise the venue for a few photographs of the just the two of them.
It was then back to the New House hotel, for a few family groups shots before the winter light dimmed and the inevitable rain came. Once the afternoon tea was served, the family played a few parlour games at the hotel. My photographic coverage stopped at this point so I was able to join my own family to see in 2015 so I wished everyone well as they made their way to the castle to continue their festivities.
